About Us

Our Voices, Our Stories

As a feminist organization, we engage in feminist movement building activities through monthly meetings, online campaigns, protests, and community care programs. These initiatives raise awareness on critical issues affecting women, transgender, and gender non-conforming individuals in Kisumu and its environs.

Our main mission as a radical and intersectional feminist organization in Kisumu is to redefine feminism in African Women’s views through the Celebration of young African feminists within inclusive-intersectional feminist spaces that are Afrocentric.

This simply means we create feminist spaces that center young women, embrace being African and creates a welcoming environment for conversations aimed at sibling-hood and solidarity.

What we do

We do it for People in our community

We are keen on growing feminism in the western region and having a strong influence on county policies that will improve community development initiatives. We will continue to educate other young people on feminism, SRHR and other emerging issues of concern towards building a more equitable and inclusive society under this program.

We will work with women, youth and GNC persons to help them grow economically through providing training and funding opportunities. We will also embark on a research-based approach to investigate causes of income inequality and discrimination against women and ITGNC persons in western Kenya, creating a platform for this data to be used in policy, decision making and improved programming towards reducing the circle of poverty.

Through this program, we will organise the safety of our staff, members, and associates against the threat of violence and any other emerging security concerns.

In line with our core values, KFS is committed to creating a safe and healthy environment for staff and members to re-calibrate and re-energize.
